SESSION ONE: FACE TO FACE

In this session you will be taken from the door of the room into the room and once in there everything that is required for a fully functional   CUSTTAD FACILITY will be described and explained.  The importance of what the child sees from the door can not be overestimated.

A well resourced room with all the various materials carefully prepared and displayed can make the difference between a child deciding whether or not to enter and engage with what's on offer.

Included on the agenda will be:

  • The materials in use and the reasons for their selection.

  • An introduction to THE SCRIPT - this is discussed but is not made available as a document.

  • The procedures of MAKING A TRAY and TALK AND DRAW.

  • Role plays relating to the use of THE SCRIPT.

  • Practices and procedures OTHER  than MAKING A TRAY and TALK AND DRAW.

The PRACTICES and PROCEDURES which precede the child's arrival at the door of the room and which are intended to make it as easy as possible for a child to get there  are  covered in SESSION TWO.
